As mentioned previously in the welcome message, it was mentioned that the repeater only has about a 3-mile range. I am intending on fixing that soon. The first order of business is to address the position of the antenna; at current, it sits in the attic of the building in which it resides, close to the building's HVAC system, around aluminum flex conduit, and under a solar panel array. By any standards, this would be considered sub-optimal and both wattage and surroundings not accounted for, is a primary reason for this lack of range.
Once this move has been completed, not only will it lack obstruction by the building it resides in, but also, the base of the antenna, as it will be mounted to the side of the building, will be at an elevation of approximately 27 feet above ground level. Being that the Harvest BC200 itself is 79 inches (6', 7") in length, with an adjustable-height bracket that adds another 15 inches or so, the tip of the antenna should be as high as 35 feet.
The feedline is divided into two sections that are connected by a custom-built bulkhead junction box that was fashioned out of a type N female-female bulkhead connector and 90-degree connector. The exterior feedline segment is a 50-foot run of 3/8" LDF2-50 and the interior feedline segment is a 6' run of LMR400.
Signing out for now,
